Honourable Mentions

Now you're really getting into the weeds of the Dan lore.

I played live in all of them, but I didn't contribute to any musical releases.

Tempest (2007 guitar)

My first band to get on stage in the real world. A short lived high school mess, but a taste of blood.

Empyreal Destroyer (2009 - 2010, guitar and keyboard)

Oh boy, what a time.

This was what felt like my first major opportunity - acknowledgement from the outside world instead of something I had founded.

ED had some hype the year prior, and I was eager to get my career going. I didn't stop to think about why there were vacant spots in the lineup.

It turned out to be a lot of work for a lot of drama. They also rehearsed very far away from where I lived and it's obvious now it was unsustainable from the start.

It amounted to playing one show where I performed keyboards.

Shaz (2010, guitar)

I met Shaz on MySpace, and coincidentally he happened to be the keyboardist for Reaping Havoc - a brother band to Phyrexia.

He wanted to try and play his solo (MySpace) stuff live, so I got onboard to play with him for a handful of shows that Summer.

Damnation Angels (2013, keyboard)

I knew DA from playing with them in Phyrexia a handful of times. We booked them to headline, once.

I took the opportunity to drive 4 hours, audition and join them. However, the main guy didn't like my (admittedly, cheap) keyboard's sound.

So when I played my one and only show with them, I was turned down and basically told to mime.

I was also told I would need to buy my own plane ticket to the USA to play (mime) a single show. I declined and quit
