Legacy, Lore and Discography

Here you'll find links to my life's work.

I've released music in and played live for a number of bands, and made the music for a handful of games.

Solo Work

SuperSmashDan (Composer, 2010 - 2017)

Before RetroMusicDan there was SuperSmashDan! This was my composer / producer alias.

I freelanced and did the soundtracks for a handful of indie games, and I built a sizable portfolio of game and film music during my degree in Music Production for Media.

My Bands

Formicarius (Vocals & Guitar, 2014 - 2021)

The evolution of my heavy metal vision, this was basically Phyrexia 2.0 - more focused, polished and mature, but also cynical and jaded.

We released two full length albums with the label Schwarzdorn Production, a single, and were featured on Sony's Music for Nations compilation 'Speed Kills VII'.

We played all over the UK and made it abroad once.

Phyrexia (Guitar, 2008 - 2013)

My heavy metal melting pot vision of a band, which I started all the way back in high school.

This was truly the age of innocence. It could be a hot mess, but that's also the joy of it.

We released one full length album and three EPs, and played roughly fifty shows - most of which were in London.

Colors (Bass, 2012 - 2016)

A London based Japanese Rock Band which I joined on bass.

I recorded one EP with Colors and played countless shows across the UK.

Other bands I've Played In

These bands deserve a mention, but I didn't work with them for long.

They're more like footnotes than part of my legacy.
